Alabama Swimming and Diving Heads to Knoxville for Tennessee/Virginia Meets

in Sports

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Alabama swimming and diving teams continue the 2020-21 season this weekend with a three-day meet against both Virginia and host school Tennessee.

The format for this weekend’s meet will be similar to what the Crimson Tide will see during the post season with prelims and finals each day. The meet gets underway Thursday and runs through Saturday at the Jones Aquatic Center on the Tennessee campus.

HEAD COACH COLEY STICKELS SAID

“This is another opportunity for us to get up and compete against some very good teams. Tennessee and Virginia are both top-10 caliber teams at the national level and are the defending SEC and ACC champions on the women’s side of things, so it should be a very good meet. The format is similar to what we’ll see during the championship season and will give us experience in racing twice in a day. One thing we want to work on is getting after it during prelims, because, as the saying goes, championships are won in the morning.”
