East Tennessee businesses, schools review preparedness plans ahead of possible COVID-19 outbreak

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The CDC is encouraging businesses, schools and organizations to review emergency preparedness plans.

This comes after health leaders described the spread of the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, to the U.S. as “inevitable” but the risk is low.

Right now there are still only 14 confirmed cases in the U.S., according to the CDC.

There are no cases in Tennessee, but businesses and schools in East Tennessee have been meeting this week to discuss the threat of a possible outbreak.
