Fort Dickerson’s Augusta Quarry to close as work begins on upgrades

Augusta Quarry will be closed starting March 4 as crews begin major upgrades at Fort Dickerson Park that will offer visitors new swimming options and other amenities.

The nine-month project is expected to add restrooms, an expanded overlook, an improved pedestrian path to the water, and a new floating beach and swim platforms. The new amenities are expected to open in late fall.
