Peak strawberry season is winding down in East Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Time is running out if you’re hoping to pick your own sweet treats this spring! Peak strawberry season will come to an end about two weeks.

Mitchell Hyde is the owner of Hyde Farms in Greenback. He said although this year’s rain didn’t affect his crop, it has limited how many days people could come to pick berries.

If you’re hoping to get out in the field and fill up a bucket, Hyde said you should dress for weather and try to stop by earlier in the day.
