The LSU baseball team did something this weekend it hadn’t done since 1977.

The Tigers lost their fifth consecutive series in Southeastern Conference play to start the season after losing to Tennessee 3-1 in the second game of their series with the Volunteers on Saturday.

That series loss turned into a sweep Sunday when the Vols took down LSU 8-4. Tennessee had also won the series opener Friday night, 6-3.
