University of Tennessee social media research center tracks election conversation

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — On Tuesday, people flocked to the polls across the U.S. to cast their ballots for the next president.

People mostly chose between Democratic nominee Joe Biden and President Donald Trump for the 2020 presidential election. Several ballots were cast by mail across the country, due to coronavirus-related and safety concerns. By the end of the night on Election Day, it was still unclear who won as officials continued counting votes.

The Adam Brown Social Media Command Center tracked the conversation around the election and found that the number of posts about mail-in ballots grew throughout the day.
