World’s first self-driving water taxi is ready to ferry passengers in Knoxville

You may be able to commute to your next Tennessee football game by boat, whether or not you happen to own one. All you need is an app.

Buffalo Automation, an artificial intelligence startup from Buffalo, New York, introduced its self-driving Greycraft water taxi to the public last week. Privately, the company has been making test runs since mid-December on the Tennessee River between Volunteer Landing on the north and Suttree Landing Park to the south.

Now, it’s seeking approval from the Knoxville City Council to offer Greycraft to everyone.
